You must have a license to hunt or fish in Alaska. For certain species of animals, you will need to enter a draw for the chance to obtain a hunting permit.

Licenses, harvest tickets and big game tags are available from license vendors such as sporting goods stores and chain grocery stores around the state or by mail at:

A list of licensed Alaska hunting guides is available for $5. The list includes hunting guide-outfitters and the areas for which they are licensed, transporters and commercial use permit holders. To obtain a copy of the list, send $5 in US funds to the State of Alaska at:
