Using Electrical Appliances in the U.S.
from WorldWeb.com Travel Guide

Volts

The U.S. operates on 110 volts (60-cycle electrical power) as does all of North America.

Sockets

Most U.S. sockets can accommodate both North American-style two- or three-pronged plugs. However, when traveling from outside of Canada or the United States it is advisable to bring a plug adapter, especially if you are wishing to use your own small appliances, such as razors, hairdryers, etc.
